The state's elected officials receive many of the same benefits provided to state employees such as participation in a retirement system, health care, and insurance coverage. The elected officials are also eligible for optional life insurance coverage and voluntary programs such as deferred compensation and dependent care.
We often receive questions or comments regarding the benefits the elected officials receive. Those inquiries should be directed to the appropriate state agency as we have no authority or jurisdiction for any benefits the elected officials may receive or for which they are eligible. Contacts for benefit information are:
Department of Retirement Systems (retirement benefits)
Office of the Administrator for the Courts (Judicial benefits)
Chief Clerk of the House (Representative benefits)
Secretary of the Senate (Senator benefits)
Health Care Authority (medical and dental insurance)
