The Constitution prohibits the Commission from reducing salaries.
Among the Commissioners who voted for an increase in the second year, there was a consensus that elected officials’ salaries within our state have not, and still have not, kept pace with Social Security cost of living increases or inflation. Additionally, the state revenue forecast and budget showed optimism in 2022. This is a 1.75% increase in 2022.
