Judicial Branch

We set the salaries of:

  • Supreme Court Justices
  • Judges of the Court of Appeals
  • Superior Court Judges
  • District Court Judges

The state pays the salaries of the Supreme Court Justices and judges of the Court of Appeals.  Superior court judges’ salaries are paid 50/50 by the state and by the county in which the court is located.  District Court judges’ salaries are paid 100% by the county in which the court is located.

We do not set the salaries of municipal judges.
