Salary Commissions in Other States

Washington is one of 22 states that has a compensation commission to set elected officials' salaries. In 12 states a commission sets all elected officials' salaries and in 15 states they set salaries for the Judicial Branch only.

All other elected officials salaries are set through the legislative process or by the governor or a combination of both.
